We are able to leverage research dollars to solve problems that significantly improve the lives or the mission of our warfighters. We pull multiple different types of engineering disciplines together under one roof to solve multifaceted problems.

The Navy STP SBIR/STTP Transition Program (Navy STP) recently highlighted Luna Labs’ Blockade GC™ as a funding success story. Developed by our material scientists and corrosion teams, Blockade GC is leading the way for an eco-friendly, non-chrome alternative to galvanic corrosion protection for screws, bolts, and bushings.

This has huge implications for corrosion control on airplanes, ships, oil rigs, wind turbines, and so many other critical assets. For the military, galvanic corrosion is the leading cause of reduced asset Operational Readiness and Non-Availability.

We appreciate the support of the US Navy and the US Air Force through NAVAIR, NAWCAD, the Navy SBIR program, the Air Force Commercial Readiness Program, and the National Defense Center for Energy & Environment (NDCEE).
