Luna Labs Chemical Resistant Gloves

PFAS-free advanced elastometric mixed matrix composite glove material.

Comfortable and durable for a positive user experience.

Exceptional chemical protection without compromising dexterity or thermal burden.

Meet the chemical resistance standards outlined by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1994 Class I category

Luna Labs has successfully developed an advanced elastomeric mixed matrix composite (MMC) glove material that is completely free of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This innovative MMC glove material exhibits exceptional chemical resistance, surpassing that of traditional butyl rubber. Not only does it provide remarkable chemical resistance, but it also allows end users to conveniently use touch screens.

The groundbreaking glove material offered by Luna Labs significantly enhances protection against chemical warfare agents (CWAs) and toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), while also providing improved flexibility and dexterity. Additionally, the MMC material is entirely PFAS free, addressing concerns associated with these potentially harmful substances.

Initial prototypes of the material have been created using a dip method, which seamlessly adheres to Kevlar fabric scaffolding. This manufacturing technique allows for easy integration into standard glove manufacturing processes.

The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction is a security threat to personnel worldwide. Military warfighters and first responders need to be prepared to operate effectively in CBRN environments and respond swiftly to threats. Current CBRN gloves provide excellent protection but lack dexterity and touch screen capability.

There is a need for innovative barrier materials that offer both function and chemical protection without compromising dexterity or thermal burden.
