Charlottesville, VA (USA) – July 16, 2025 Luna Labs, a product development company working in defense, industrial, and healthcare markets, will celebrate two major company milestones with a ribbon cutting ceremony and technologies showcase. The event will commemorate both the company’s facility expansion and the unveiling of new branding, reinforcing its position at the forefront of innovation and technology.

When: Wednesday, July 23, 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Where: Luna Labs, 706 Forest St, Charlottesville, VA
Special Guest: The Honorable Juandiego Wade, Mayor of Charlottesville

Luna Labs invested $200,000 to expand its operations, bringing its total footprint in downtown Charlottesville to 50,000+ square feet. In addition, the company is working with the City and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) for funding, recruitment, and training activities, particularly through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program. The company is enrolled in the Virginia Leaders in Export Trade Program and will graduate in July 2026.

The new space will be used for biotech activities, including development of NanoVac, a drug delivery platform for cancer treatments and other therapeutics. Work on biomarker identification will also be conducted in the new space, including research associated with diagnosing PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. The expansion allows the company to increase manufacturing capabilities for TrueClot Bleeding Control Trainers, Dislotech Joint Reduction Trainers, and Acuity Corrosion Technology, while existing space is being reassigned for work on protective coatings and sealants, including GlassLock transparent armor sealant.  GlassLock was recently approved for use on HMMWV (Humvees) for OEM production and foreign military sales.

“This expansion is a significant milestone in our 25-year growth story here in Charlottesville,” said James Garrett, CEO at Luna Labs. “We are fully committed to this community, and this investment represents our dedication – and excitement – in fostering local innovation, creating high-tech jobs, and developing technologies that have real impact.

Alongside this physical expansion, Luna Labs will unveil new branding that retains the company’s established name and core identity while capturing the product-first focus with a contemporary visual presence.

The updated Luna Labs logo retains its recognizable elements while introducing subtle refinements. The custom font reflects the company’s attitude to think outside the lines, explore the unknown, and forge new paths. The new color palette conveys stability, creativity, and growth with subtle bursts of energy.

“This is the visual expression of our mission,” said Drake Goolsby, Chief Commercialization Officer at Luna Labs. “It captures how our teams turn bold ideas into real solutions that improve patient care, protect high-value assets and personnel, and safeguard our environment.”
